The Beginning
Money Pancho opened its first restaurant in Guadalajara City, Mexico in the summer of 1975, followed by a second location in Manzanillo, Colima. Under the leadership of Frank Conrad (Mr. Money) and Federico Aselei (Mr. Pancho), along with the culinary expertise of young Chef Jorge Lopez, both restaurants thrived serving fine Mexican cuisine until 1982.
The Journey North
In 1989, Chef Jorge Lopez made a life-changing decision to move his family to the United States. He first acquired the necessary rights and recipes for Money Pancho Family Restaurants, then spent years working at various Ventura County restaurants to learn the American restaurant business before opening Money Pancho Camarillo in 1998.
Building Our Foundation
Money Pancho's reputation rests on three simple principles: good food, good service, and reasonable prices. Our award-winning handmade margarita mix remains a specialty of the house, drawing visitors from across the region. Every dish reflects Chef Lopez's commitment to traditional Mexican home-style cooking using only fresh ingredients.
